When our friends at West Lake liquor gave us a Knob Creek Whiskey barrel, we never thought it would lead to such a magical beer.
After doing a baltic porter in the barrel, we refilled with Oatmeal stout. And then forgot about it. A year later, we remembered. We bottled the beer without a label, put the bottles into an unlabeled box, and threw it into our giant cooler. Other more pressing things got stacked on top of our aged Oatmeal Stout, and we forgot about it again. As we were going through the cooler 15 months later, My, Oh My, what did we find?
This beautiful beer aged in oak for a year, cellared for 15 months in our 32 degree cooler, and twice forgotten is a beer you will never forget. It's like walking through New Orleans and hearing a little trumpet noise, heading down the dark stairs into a hole-in-the-wall with low ceiling, a few tables, and the best jazz you've ever heard. My, oh my, look what you've found.
Only 30 cases available.
It’s not hard to love you my beautiful Oatmeal stout. My, oh my I’ve held you for a little while with great love and care. Thank you for the late nights of dancing and joy over these short 14 months. Forever yours, a lucky Knob Creek barrel.
